Top 10 things to do in New York

Are you planning a trip to New York city? Please don't leave without doing these 10 things or some of them! I don't live in New York but I've had the opportunity to travel to New York on multiple occasions so I think I have some things to share! I'll keep this short and leave you as many links as I can so you can easily find everything. (There is no particular order since I love the 10 things and could not decide).

1) Eat a tiramisu at Via Quadronno

This tiramisu is by far the best I've ever had in a restaurant! It is sooooo good! I think it might be a little bit expensive but it is SO worth it! So don't forget to go and share your thoughts in the comments below!

2) Eat a Levain Cookie

I know you must have heard about Levain Bakery but if you haven't please check out the pictures on instagram or wherever and you'll see it's definitely something you don't want to miss. There'll most likely be a lot of people so try to got at odd timings. If you have time, you could buy a cookie and walk over to central park to enjoy it there! You'll also see the Dakota building on your way.

3) OatMeals

If you're a fan of oatmeal like I am you'll definitely want to check out this place. It is located at 120 West 3rd St near Washington Square Park. It's the same concept as a frozen yoghurt place where you pick your oatmeal (with water or milk) and then you can choose between LOTS of toppings. I promise I'll stop talking about food.

4) If you like to shop

If you like to shop at great prices there's tons of options in New York. If you want to stay in Manhattan, my favorite places are Nordstrom Rack (http://shop.nordstrom.com/st/nordstrom-rack-union-square ) or Century 21 but if you only have time for one of them I would go to Nordstrom Rack since Century 21 is extremely big and it's easy to get lost inside and waist your entire day over there.

On the other hand, if you have the time to go outside of Manhattan there are two very nice outlet malls:

- Jersey Gardens Mall (http://www.simon.com/mall/the-mills-at-jersey-gardens) has the most well known brands and you can take the bus from Port Authority (13$ roundtrip).

- Woodbury Common Premium Outlet (http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlet/woodbury-common) it takes longer to get to and has more high end brands but the place itself is really nice.

5) Dumbo, Brooklyn

This is a must! Spend a day walking through Brooklyn especially around Dumbo. The neighborhood is really nice, the buildings are beautiful, there's lots of wall art and cute coffee shops. You can go near the water and have an amazing view of Manhattan. It is one of the best places to take pictures!

6) Cooper Hewitt Museum

This is by far my favorite museum in New York! I don't want to give to much away but the mansion in which the museum is located is outstanding and right next to central park. You'll also find upon arrival a very innovative way of experiencing the museum (you'll see what I'm talking about if you go but I don't want to give it away because it was a very cool surprise that I found out when I got there).

7) One World Observatory

Located at One World Trade Center, the view from the top is outstanding and very different than the ones you can see from the Empire State Building or Top of the Rock. You have an amazing 360 view. And while you're there you can visit the Oculus (2nd link) that's the center of the World Trade Center transportation hub and it's kind of a very modern shopping mall where you'll be able to take some great pictures.

8) Farmers Market

My favorite is the Union Square Greenmarket that's located at Union Square Park and is open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Chelsea Market is also super nice but has way more tourists.

(PS: Nordstrom Rack is just around the corner so you could make a stop while you're visiting the market).

9) Central Park

I know everyone talks about Central Park but honestly it's my favorite place in New York. It's so nice and big that I could spend the entire day over there just reading, taking pictures or people watching. Just walk, walk, walk.

10) Broadway Shows

This is something that I always try to do when I'm in New York. I LOVE to watch a show on Broadway. It's just magic, you leave there feeling so strange, feeling like you belong in the world of the musical you just watched and you leave (at least I do) with such a positive attitude, I can't stop smiling. There is a ticket booth right in the middle of Central Park where you can buy discounted tickets for the same day so be sure to check it out.

My top 3 shows are:

- Beautiful: Carole King

- Wicked

- Les Miserables or Mamma Mia (I think they're not doing Les Miserables anymore).
